Girgaon Dhwajapathak has a troop of approx. 500 youngsters who are going to participate in the Maharashtrian New Year welcome procession called "Gudhi Padwa Yatra", organized by Swami Vivekanand Yuva Pratishthan.
The troop will include approximately 300 members including boys and girls who will play traditional instruments like:
Additionally, there will be a group of traditionally dressed approx. 200 boys and girls who will perform on the rhythm of traditional instruments with complete uniformity and discipline. There will be spectacular Dhwaj formations included which will be performed with various traditional tunes/notations.
Girgaon Dhwajapathak also got the opportunity to perform during Respected Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar's Ganesh immersion procession. This was a historic moment for us as we played a small part in such an iconic event.
We had the privilege of being part of the cultural procession at the prestigious Ganesh Festival Parade in Mumbai, performing for thousands of enthusiastic spectators. This event showcased the power of community and traditional music.
